Activity Kits for the Robotics
“3-Finger Base Plate” or “3FBP-1”

What is it?

earlier prototype shown with different brackets

It’s a base plate to mount 3 servos to rotate 3 RoboFingers mounted symmetrically in a circle to create one type of RoboHand. The project is designed to demonstrate how servos can be used to create a grip onto objects and create patterns using RoboMechanics.

How do I buy a the 3Fingers Base Plate?

Sorry Not Yet

How does it Work?

First:

Connect each level of servos to one channel on your SK-1 using “Y” cables ... this creates symmetrical patterns as you control each channel.

Second:

You will find that in some instances you want some sets of servos to work in parallel while others work separately to create different hand/gripper shapes to perform different tasks.

What is the Controller?

The RoboKeyboard known as an SK-1 is the primary controller

Aluminum Offset Servo Bracket with Ball Bearings Two Pack

Construction starts with the BasePlate

Insert a servo into each of the three holes ... keep the servo cables all in the same direction for symmetry.

Next add the servo horn to the bottom of one of the “MultiPurpose Servo Brackets” to mount onto the BasePlate servo ...

Next add the servo ... then screw a servo arm onto the inner side of the servo “Offset-U” bracket ... finally mount the “Offset-U” bracket onto the servo with the servo motor centered and the “Offset-U” bracket centered.

Finally, assemble the finger using 2mm screws and nuts between the “Offset U” and the “MultiPurpose Servo Bracket” until you have something that looks a little like this;

Payment includes first class postage within the USA. Foreign orders may cost a little more so email for payment instructions outside the USA.
